The gray jeans are so YOU...the white ones are more Rockstar - meaning not so practical. While they are tight - they ONLY way white remains tight is when it's STARK white. So for a "real-lifer" like you - I'd stick to the gray ones for now - just til you get to rockstar status...plus you know how you are - the first time you get a stain on them - you'll be ready to DUMP them!
